BRANSON COUNTRY USA PODCASTS
This week we welcome longtime performer with the Baldknobbers Jamboree, Gene Dove!
Gene Dove performed with the Baldknobbers for a little over 30 years.
He started singing at age 10 in a band with his dad. His goal is "tell my story in song". Ask Gene to name his favorite song and he'll say, "Anything as long as it is HARD CORE COUNTRY!"
Gene is a Vietnam veteran having served in the Army. After his service he formed his own Country band and played in nightclubs until he got the call from the Mabe Brothers.
Starting in 1977, Gene began playing bass guitar for Branson's founding show. Through the years he transitioned from playing bass, to serving as a vocalist and emcee for the show.
There isn't anyone who can sing a country song better than Gene Dove. In 2016, he was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement" award at the 2016 Branson Terry Awards!
These days you can find Gene performing select dates at Patrick's Family Restaurant in Nixa, Missouri. His group is called Gene Dove & Old Friends and features several familiar Branson faces. For more information visit his Facebook band page: GeneDove&OldFriends.
